Lawyer of Glen Kamara denies Giovanni van Bronckhorst bust-up at Rangers

Glen Kamara’s lawyer has denied claims of a bust-up between the midfielder and Giovanni van Bronckhorst after Rangers’ 1-1 draw against St Mirren on Saturday.

The Finland midfielder was handed his first start since August against St Mirren but was hooked at half-time after a disappointing performance.

It was reported that Kamara spent the second half fully dressed in the foyer at the SMiSA Stadium before moving down the tunnel as James Tavernier’s late penalty earned Van Bronckhorst’s side a draw.

Although Rangers managed to nick a crucial point in their last game before the World Cup, pressure on Van Bronckhorst has reached boiling point as Dave King prepares to fly back to Glasgow.

According to the Daily Record, Kamara’s lawyer Aamer Anwar has denied any row taking place between the 27-year-old and the Dutch boss.

He said: “Glen is the utmost professional and has always respected the decisions the manager makes – his position is that there was absolutely no disagreement and any attempt to say there was is based on pure speculation or falsehood.”

Surely time is up

Although Van Bronckhorst’s Rangers side showed character as they fought from a goal down to nick a point against St Mirren, the glaring gap in the table between The Gers and Celtic has made the manager’s position untenable.

The Athletic’s report on the bust-up has clearly shown that it isn’t just the fans who have had enough of the Dutchman, but the players have finally given up on their manager.

It is a shame that things have reached this point for the beleaguered boss as he approaches his one-year anniversary in the hot seat at the club.

After being brought in for Steven Gerrard last November, a Europa League final appearance and Scottish Cup victory left fans mightily impressed with the ex-Ibrox star.

However, after a depressing league campaign, their capitulation in the Champions League, and now the bust-up with Kamara, time is surely up for Van Bronckhorst at Rangers.
