Rangers yet to table bid for Joey Veerman
Rangers have not yet tabled a bid to sign Heerenveen midfielder Joey Veerman, according to Sander de Vries.
Writing via his personal Twitter account on Saturday, the Leeuwarder Courant journalist reported that Hellas Verona have offered £4.2million for the 22-year-old Dutchman but Rangers are yet to firm up their interest with a bid.
De Telegraaf reported the Gers made a £3.8million move for Veerman but de Vries’ update suggests that claim is wide of the mark.
Get him in
Veerman is someone who can add a lot of quality to the Rangers midfield.
He’s done well in the Eredivisie with Heerenveen and last season he scored nine goals and supplied 11 assists in 35 appearances across all competitions for the Dutch outfit.
Stats by WhoScored show that Veerman stood out massively as a playmaker in the Dutch top-flight too.

He ranked fifth for dribbles per game [2.5] and ninth for key passes per game [1.9] in the Eredivise last term.
According to the Daily Record, Veerman’s passing ability “probably reminds” Steven Gerrard of himself when was pulling the strings at Liverpool in his playing days.
We do need to see a new face or two arrive in our midfield this summer with Steven Davis getting on, Ryan Jack’s injury issues and speculation linking Glen Kamara with a move away from Ibrox.
Veerman might be a nailed-on starter for us next season.
He seems like someone who could help improve the Scottish champions by leaps and bounds.
Unfortunately, it seems a bid has not been made yet but that doesn’t mean that one won’t come.
Come on, Gerrard. Get this one done.
In other Rangers news, Michael Stewart made a ridiculous claim about this Ibrox star this week.
