Rangers transfer target Vanja Dragojevic "ticks so many boxes" for Derek McInnes as he looks to add to continue adding to his squad in Govan.

The Light Blues have already submitted a £3.9million bid for Dragojevic, which has been rejected by his club Partizan Belgrade.

It is understood that the Serbian Super Liga outfit are holding out for closer to £4.7m for the 20-year-old midfielder, who made 41 appearances for them last season.

Despite his tender age, Dragojevic is already Partizan's club captain and his leadership qualities are already being touted as something that Rangers were missing last season under the management of Russell Martin and Danny Rohl.

FourLadsHadADream presenter David Herd has now waxed lyrical about Dragojevic's leadership.

But he's also shared other traits the midfield ace has that could benefit Rangers, should he swap Belgrade for Glasgow.

What can else Vanja Dragojevic offer the Gers?

Speaking on the FourLadsHadADream YouTube page, Herd said: "From what I can find out about him, he's a highly competitive, aggressive, ball-winning midfield player who doesn't like losing, who's an actual leader.

"He ticks so many boxes of what was missing last season."

Dragojevic's form for Partizan last term led to him making his first senior international appearances for Serbia prior to the World Cup, playing against Cape Verde and Mexico.

There's no doubt that Rangers will do well to sign him at this stage, especially as his international caps will now start to see him catch the eye of more scouts and more clubs.

However, there is one aspect of being a Gers player that could really appeal to Dragojevic.

Could Celtic actually be the key to signing him?

There's a chance that such a passionate player who loves playing in big derby matches will want to sign for Rangers just to get himself involved in the Old Firm.

Dragojevic has already suggested that he'd thrive when playing against Celtic, having showcased just how much the Eternal Derby in Serbia means to him, when his beloved Partizan take on Red Star.

"A derby is a great game in which there are no favorites, as was evident in the last two derbies, which were evenly matched. We prepare for every game as if it were a final and we will do our best to please the fans and justify what we have been working on in the previous period," he said earlier this year.

The Old Firm is without a doubt a big selling point for Rangers when they're trying to get players to move to Ibrox.

Some players have absolutely sunk in the past when they've come up against Celtic, but there have been others who've shown their absolute best in those games.

Could Dragojevic be the next to do that for the Gers?
