Rangers are interested in signing Vanja Dragojevic to bolster their midfield.

The Gers have already been massively busy this summer with five signings already coming through the door.

Most recently, Dan Neil has come in on a free transfer to add to the midfield conversation at Ibrox.

He hopes to dictate play from the middle of the park and could soon be joined by an enforcer.

Dragojevic has been linked with a move from Partizan after attracting plenty of interest this summer.

The Serbian certainly impressed last season and could prove to be a difference maker for the Govan club.

How Rangers can seal a deal for Vanja Dragojevic

There has already been a spend of over £7million in G51 this season, with Ivor Pandur representing £6m of that.

Ross McCrorie is the other signing with a fee involved, while other deals have been on loan or free transfers.

Funds could now be outlaid on a move for Dragojevic in yet another potential midfield addition for the Gers.

Sky Sports reported on Thursday that Rangers are interested in Partizan's 20-year-old, but both sides remain apart in their valuation of the 2006-born ace.

The media outlet have described him as "one of the best defensive midfielders in the Serbian league" as he continues to thrive.

He is under contract until 2030 and a previous report from Serbian outlet Mozzart Sport suggested that a fee of £4.7m is being demanded for his signature.

The Light Blues will likely have to match that if they are to make their interest count in a young player who knows what it's like to play in high-pressure derbies, just like the Old Firm.

How Dragojevic is already prepared for the Old Firm

There is always a question whenever the Ibrox club complete a signing about whether they can cope with the pressure.

That won't be a concern for Dragojevic as he has already featured in one of the biggest derbies in the world.

Partizan and Red Star play the Eternal derby and it is famed for it's incredible use of pyrotechnics.

The Old Firm is close by in terms of its fierce atmosphere, but that looks unlikely to phase the midfielder.

In an interview back in February, he discussed an upcoming clash with Red Star in the calmest fashion.

He said: "A derby is a great game in which there are no favorites, as was evident in the last two derbies, which were evenly matched. We prepare for every game as if it were a final and we will do our best to please the fans and justify what we have been working on in the previous period.

"The experience they [the fans] brought with them is extremely valuable to us. I invite them to come in as many numbers as possible. It is a big wind at our back. Let them skin the vocal cords, we will perish by the coat of arms, so as God decides."

That sort of atmosphere will serve him well if he seals a move to Rangers as he could prove to be a thorn in the side of Celtic.

He is ready for the Old Firm, so the Light Blues now need to reach an agreement on a fee to make a deal happen.
