Rangers could land one of the signings of the Scottish Premiership transfer window in Fares Ghedjemis.
Having just sold Oliver Antman to Anderlecht, Rangers appear to be in the market at the right wing position.
Eight new signings have been made at Ibrox so far this summer, with Olwethu Makhanya arriving from Philadelphia Union this week.
Ghedjemis' name has now cropped up on Rangers' transfer radar on Friday, with the 23-year-old plying his trade for Italian Serie A side Frosinone.
Indeed, they weren't a Serie A side in 2025-26, but their second-placed finish secured automatic promotion back to Italy's top flight.
Frosinone owes so much of that achievement to Ghedjemis too, as last season was quite simply a remarkable campaign from the winger.
Why Fares Ghedjemis would get Rangers fans out their seats
Ibrox News has been following emerging repots that Rangers are pushing to sign Ghedjemis.
It's not yet clear whether Gers have tabled a concrete offer for the winger, who is sure to have plenty of admirers across European football.
Why you might ask? Well that's because he completely tore up Serie B in 2025-26, leaving no doubt who the best right winger was in that division last term.
As per FotMob, no Serie B right winger scored more goals (15), took more shots (106), put more shots on target (37), completed more dribbles (62) or took more touches in the opposition box (205) than Ghedjemis did last season.
On top of that, he also ranked amongst the very top percentile of his positional rivals for successful passes (638), chances created (55), recoveries (86) and duels won (120).
Simply put, Ghedjemis is an electric winger. One who is direct, quick off the mark, and is always looking to get his shots off and create goalscoring opportunities for his teammates.
His arrival could see Derek McInnes push Findlay Curtis over to the left wing on a full-time basis, and those two could be a dynamic and deadly duo down the Rangers flanks for many years to come.
So, what is Ghedjemis' contract situation at Frosinone, and does it play into Rangers' hands or perhaps favour the Italians more?
Why Frosinone may never get better Ghedjemis cash in chance
Having began his career in France and working his way through their lower leagues with the likes of Evreux, Vannes and Rouen respectively, Ghedjemis joined Frosinone from the latter of those French sides in January 2024.
The Algerian joined them when Frosinone were a Serie A club, but they would suffer relegation to Serie B in his debut 2023-24 campaign.
After an underwhelming 2024-25 season that saw him score just twice in 21 Serie B games, he came to life in 2025-26, and he's now Frosinone's talisman that they will no doubt want to keep ahead of their Serie A return.
However, Ghedjemis is only contracted there until the summer of 2028, meaning that this summer may present their best ever chance to sell him for big money whilst his stock has never been higher.
Should they keep him and he struggles in Serie A, then with under 12 months left on his deal this time next summer, Frosinone may not get close to the kind of price they should receive for him right now.
Therefore, whilst it won't come cheap for Rangers, Ghedjemis looks like a rapidly ascending talent who could quickly become one of the top players in Scottish football.
