Rangers now pushing to sign Fares Ghedjemis after stunning 15-goal season in Italy

Rangers hunt for attacking reinforcements has brought them to Frosinone's Fares Ghedjemis.

Derek McInnes' side are desperate to recruit out wide and have been linked with several targets in the last week.

Ibrox News shared reports that talks for Amario Cozier-Duberry were underway, while Vaclav Cerny's potential return has continously been mooted.

McInnes has stated that his side are looking to add a "difference maker" and the latest links to Ghedjemis could be just that.

The winger proved to be a key man for Frosinone last season.

The 23-year-old may not be a household football name but there are plenty of reasons why Rangers are looking to land this deal.

Who is Rangers target Fares Ghedjemis?

Rangers are not stopping in the transfer market and now look to be trying to land their next signing.

According to Sky Sports journalist, Luca Bendoni, Rangers are now pushing to secure the arrival of Ghedjemis.

The Algerian forward is a goal-scoring winger who netted 15 goals for Frosinone in the Serie B last season.

His efforts helped the Italian club achieve promotion to the Serie A, while on a personal note, earned himself a call-up to the Algerian World Cup squad.

In North America, he did only play one minute total but it was still quite the achievement for the 23-year-old, who so far has just two caps for his nation.

The exit of Oliver Antman has left space in the Gers squad for Ghedjemis to take up with eyes in G51 firmly set on securing the Scottish Premiership title.

How much could the Ghedjemis deal cost?

Interestingly, Ghedjemis was heavily linked with Rangers' rivals Celtic back in January.

And that interest had even gone as far as an offer for the Algerian being accepted by Frosinone according to the Daily Record.

A fee in the region of £6million was agreed between the Italian and Scottish clubs but the winger opted to stay and help Frosinone push for promotion.

A feat that he was able to achieve in the end.

Now, it is the Gers who look to benefit from Ghedjemis walking away from Celtic, and that rejection could provide him with some early cult hero status in G51 should a deal go through.

A fee close to or around the £6m mark previously accepted may be what is on the cards for the Ibrox side.
