Rangers are closing in on their seventh signing of the summer, with Vanja Dragojevic almost over the line.

Derek McInnes has had his squad in Spain this week, drawing in two separate friendlies as fitness is built.

Despite that, transfer business hasn't slowed at Ibrox.

Cammy Devlin was confirmed as another midfield arrival at the start of the week, but the Bears aren't done there.

Dragojevic will follow the Australian and Dan Neil through the door, and much sooner than most expected.

When will Vanja Dragojevic touch down in Glasgow?

There is always excitement when a transfer gets to this point, no matter how many have already arrived.

Dragojevic will be number seven, but is the second-highest fee that will have been spent so far, behind Ivor Pandur.

The Daily Record has now reported that the Serbian international will jet into Scotland on Friday.

Dragojevic will then complete his medical and formalities before being announced as signing number seven.

McInnes will then likely switch his attention to other areas of the squad, with wingers and the back four needing some work.

Who could leave Rangers?

One thing this transfer does, is bloat the options available to the Bears and McInnes in midfield.

Many have even suggested that Dragojevic isn't needed.

A hard-working defensive player, which is something that Tochi Chukwuani and Devlin could also say they are.

But, McInnes knows best and there has been constant speculation around Nicolas Raskin, Mohammed Diomande and Connor Barron.

If all three of them were to leave Ibrox, Rangers have their replacements already and a lot of profit in the bank.

While not many are overly blown away by the transfer business so far, something hasn't been working for years at Ibrox, and this change could reflect that.

Dragojevic is a Serbian international already at only 20-years-old, so for below £5m, he not only adds his skill now, but the ability to sell him for serious windfall down the line, too.

He will be through the door on Friday, and it could even be announced by the end of play.
