Rangers are considering signing Vaclav Cerny from Besiktas this transfer window.

Derek McInnes is looking for more quality and creativity in the front end of the pitch and the Gers have the former VfL Wolfsburg attacker on their radar.

The Czechia national's loan spell at the Light Blues was impressive, but the new owners decided against making it permanent last summer.

Cerny has now emerged as a concrete target at Ibrox to reinforce McInnes' attack.

The Turkish giants, who are in the Europa League play-off, seem to value the 28-year-old highly.

In six games for the Super Lig side this season, the winger has scored two goals and provided one assist.

Vaclav Cerny transfer latest at Rangers

Besiktas have already rejected a bid for Cerny, with the attacker wanting to stay amid interest from the Gers.

Despite the recent developments, the Light Blues seemingly haven't been deterred.

According to the Daily Record on 22 August, the Glaswegian outfit's conversations with the Turkish club to sign Cerny are "ongoing".

While the finances of the whole operation make a move for the Czechia winger unlikely, talks are still taking place to find a solution.

A deal for Kim Min-su is close to being finalised at Ibrox, with a medical already scheduled for the 20-year-old Girona winger.

How Derek McInnes' Ibrox attack could shape up with Vaclav Cerny

Daisuke Yokota has impressed on the right-wing under McInnes, while Djeidi Gassama seems to be the preferred option on the left for now.

Ryan Naderi has been the preferred option up front after Youssef Chermiti's injury, with Lawrence Shankland yet to get up to speed at Ibrox.

The Gers could yet see their preferred attack change before deadline day if they can get the Kim and Cerny deals over the line.

It wouldn't be surprising to see the Besiktas winger get straight into the starting lineup, with Barry Ferguson previously saying, "He's a difference maker and hopefully the club can maybe sort something out because he has become a big player this season."

A forward line of Cerny, Shankland and Kim may end up becoming a reality soon if everything falls into place for the Glaswegian outfit.
