Tuur Rommens has given Rangers another headache with the full-back set for a spell on the sidelines.

The Gers have been extremely active in the summer transfer window thus far, but still need more bodies in the door at Ibrox.

Rangers have made nine signings to bolster Derek McInnes' squad, with Couhaib Driouech set to arrive imminently from PSV to make it 10.

Owner Andrew Cavenagh promised three to five more signings when speaking at the Rangers AGM held earlier this week.

But now, that priority has increased sharply after reports that Rommens - the only natural left-back in the squad - has sustained a groin strain.

Rangers Review said the good news is that Rommens, 23, is set to miss a matter of weeks rather than months, but left-back is now looking problematic.

The same report says that Jayden Meghoma is on Rangers' shortlist of options to come in, though a source close to Meghoma told Ibrox News he is unaware of any interest from Rangers.

AEK Athens' James Penrice is also thought to be of interest to Rangers, though the Greek outfit are looking for a full sale, while the Bears would prefer a loan.

Whoever comes in the door, Rangers need to address the situation as an urgency now.

What else do Rangers need this summer?

Injuries have caused a bit of chaos with Rangers' transfer plans this week.

Youssef Chermiti was the subject of heavy interest, particularly from Galatasaray, but suffered an ACL injury in the 2-1 defeat to Hibs.

Consequently, the Gers could in need of another striker before the close of the window next month.

A new right-back is also high on the priority list, with Rangers starting that Hibs game without a specialist right-back in their XI.

Driouech's arrival will offer much-needed flair and creativity on the flanks, though Rangers might still want one more option out wide.
