What Rangers now 'fully expect' to happen with Nicolas Raskin after Derek McInnes no-bid admission

Rangers are no further along with selling Nicolas Raskin.

Derek McInnes spoke to the media after the Bears' 1-0 win over Aberdeen on Sunday, admitting there have been no offers as of yet for the midfielder.

The Belgian is arguably the club's most valuable player, especially with Youssef Chermiti currently out injured.

Many have suggested that he would need to be replaced if he were to be sold, but with not long left in the window, that may be difficult.

Either way, Scott McDermott expects Rangers to replace Raskin, with movement coming at Ibrox ahead of Thursday's deadline.

Rangers to look at 'orchestrator' if Nicolas Raskin is sold

McInnes has hinted that Rangers movement will happen in the coming days, with several players expected to leave.

Kevin Kelsy is likely to become Rangers' next signing, with a £9.5million move from Portland Timbers nearing.

However, after a big summer of spending, the future of Raskin now awaits a crucial final few days.

While speaking on Daily Record's Hotline Live after Rangers' victory at Pittodrie on Sunday, McDermott shared the expectancy around the midfielder's future.

McDermott said: "Rangers fully expect bids to come in [for Raskin]. I think if he were to go, they would go back into the market for another midfielder. They still need an orchestrator in there.

"It will be busy; guys will leave, guys like Lyall Cameron, Ross McCausland, Clinton Nsiala, John Souttar and Bojan Miovski. I think there will be a bit of movement."

That said, Rangers could sell six players or more before the deadline.

Several clubs in the Premier League and across Europe are interested in Raskin, but his fate looks set to be away from Ibrox; it's just a matter of when, not if.

Who could Rangers replace Raskin with?

Raskin could leave Rangers for a fee in excess of £20million.

With the Bears likely to sell, they would have done themselves more favours had they sold the player much earlier in the window.

But one man who could replace the Belgium international is Lewis Ferguson.

The Bologna star has been linked with a move to Govan all summer, and he would be the perfect "orchestrator" that McDermott is on about.
