Kris Boyd adamant on Nicolas Raskin as seven late-window exits called for at Rangers

Kris Boyd is baffled by Rangers' summer transfer business and still hopes for plenty of departures before the window closes.

The Gers have so far made 12 signings since the end of last season, with Kim Min-su the most recent of those.

Kevin Kelsy is now set to become Rangers' 13th signing as a medical is pencilled in for the coming days.

With the window not closing until 5pm on Thursday for Scottish clubs - two days later than south of the border - there is still plenty of time for more business.

But rather than more new incomings after Kelsy, former Rangers player Boyd believes sales are the priority.

Could Nicolas Raskin be next Rangers player out?

Derek McInnes continues to overlook Nicolas Raskin for selection amid talk of an Ibrox exit.

Raskin has been linked with a move away all summer long, with Hull City said to have made an offer earlier in the window.

However, there have been no concrete developments of late and McInnes insisted on Sunday that no offers have been forthcoming.

McInnes did hint Rangers expect some movement in the coming days, though.

Asked on Sky Sports for his thoughts on Raskin and Rangers' other business to date, Boyd said: "If there's not been any bids for Raskin, get him in your team because he's your best midfielder by a country mile.

"Rangers must have over 30 players - it's not sustainable. They need to get five, six, seven out at least before the window closes.

"There are other areas of the team that need strengthened other than the forward areas. They're still shy of someone who can connect the midfield and be creative."

If Boyd gets his way, and Raskin is still a Rangers player come Wednesday, then the midfielder should start the clash with Falkirk.

Rangers' win over Aberdeen may have clouded real issue

Rangers cannot continue to just throw money around in the hope things click.

Kelsy will be the next to arrive and will not be coming cheap at just shy of £10million.

On the basis of what we have seen so far, however, Rangers look a broken side.

Granted, the 1-0 win over Aberdeen on Sunday was a positive result.

But it is papering over the cracks of what was another bland performance in a poor campaign to date.

Nobody wants to see McInnes sacked, and hopefully this can now be the turning point.

Dropped points at Falkirk in midweek, though, and we are right back to square one.
