What Derek McInnes has now said on Nicolas Raskin exit as Rangers D-day nears

Nicolas Raskin's potential Rangers exit could be about to ramp up.

Scottish clubs have until 5pm on 3 September to complete their business, and as it stands the Belgian is still a Gers player.

Raskin has been linked with an Ibrox exit all summer, with the likes of Hull City, Atalanta, Bologna and Besiktas in the hunt for his signature.

So far, though, nothing has materialised to the point where a departure is close to going through.

Derek McInnes has now spoken about his future, and it sounds like a matter of time before the midfielder departs.

What did Derek McInnes say about Nicolas Raskin's Rangers future?

Raskin's future has attracted significant attention and he has been left out for the last three matches.

He missed out in both UEFA Europa Conference League clashes with Jablonec and the 1-0 win against Aberdeen on Sunday.

Speaking to the media after the victory at Pittodrie, the manager gave an update on the Belgian's future.

He said: “Certainly, there have not been any offers for Nico, if that’s the next question.

“Obviously it’s normally the last couple of days of the window when things really crank up, so we need to be primed for that.”

That seems to confirm that the Govan boss expects something to happen before the window closes.

What would Rangers be missing if Raskin departs?

The Bears will have been dreading the day that Raskin leaves, and it seems that it could come soon.

He notched six goals and seven assists in 33 Scottish Premiership matches last season.

Raskin averaged 1.62 shots, created 1.45 chances and took 2.84 touches in the opposition box per 90 minutes last season, according to data from FotMob.

In terms of his passing, he completed 85.8 per cent of his attempts, and 2.68 of his long balls were accurate.

Defensively, he averaged 5.66 contributions per game, with 2.71 tackles, 4.85 recoveries and two clearances.

When it came to duels, he won 54.7 per cent on the ground and 53.2 per cent in the air.

He is a player who steps up regularly and he would be a big miss if an exit happens.
