Three things still on Derek McInnes' wish list at Rangers this transfer window

Rangers are still pushing hard to add further reinforcements during the summer transfer window.

So far, the Gers have made six additions as they look to provide Derek McInnes with the tools to push for the Scottish Premiership.

Ivor Pandur arrived from Hull City in goal, while Ross McCrorie and Ben Godfrey have added options in defence.

Cammy Devlin signed on a free transfer from Hearts to reunite with McInnes, and Dan Neil also joined to provide further midfield options after his Sunderland contract expired.

And Lawrence Shankland, like Devlin and McInnes, left Hearts to move to Ibrox to add firepower to Rangers' forward line.

But Rangers are not yet done in the markt, and here are three things Ibrox News has picked out as still potentially on McInnes' wish list this transfer window.

Rangers still want midfield reinforcement

Rangers may have added Devlin and Neil already, but it is clear McInnes has targeted central midfield as an area to overhaul this summer.

With Nicolas Raskin looking destined to depart, and Connor Barron another potentially on the way out, there is work to do to shape the engine room.

Ibrox News has covered reports that Rangers are completing the 'final elements' of Vanja Dragojevic's transfer from Serbian outfit Partizan.

But, Tromso midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl is also heavily on Rangers' radar, and there is still a possibility that the Light Blues push to sign both players.

Lewis Ferguson has also been linked from Bologna, and the Scotland international is another well known to McInnes after they worked together at Aberdeen.

Rangers want to strengthen defensive options

Much like in midfield, Rangers are clearly not done in terms of strengthening their defence.

Godfrey has a real point to prove after a couple of difficult loan spells at Ipswich Town and Sheffield United, having failed to nail down a spot at Atalanta after leaving Everton.

McCrorie is a player McInnes really loves after they worked together at Aberdeen and offers good utility options.

But last week, Rangers were linked with Blackburn Rovers right-back Ryan Alebiosu and Lecce's Republic of Ireland international Corrie Ndaba, who can play at centre-back or left-back.

South Africa international Olwethu Makhanya, who featured at the World Cup, is also reportedly on Rangers' radar, and he can play centre-back or right-back.

So, it looks pretty evident that more players are being tracked to improve Rangers' backline this window.

Rangers need to add more flair

So far, Rangers have worked on really improving the spine of the team.

You can absolutely understand why that has been prioritised, because there were issues with Rangers' resilience for the entirety of last season.

But now, McInnes will really want to see more options added in attack, especially given Djeidi Gassama and Oliver Antman were so inconsistent last term.

There have been no shortage of widemen linked to Rangers, with a return for Vaclav Cerny having predominantly been mentioned.

Another raid on Hearts for Claudio Braga has been mooted, while Leicester City's Stephy Mavididi has been mentioned as a target.

Stockport County's Adama Sidibeh - who plays as a striker but can also go out wide - is another who is said to be on the Gers' shortlist.

With all of this, it's clear that six new faces are nowhere near enough for this Rangers side, who are going all out for the title again.
