The problem Vaclav Cerny would instantly fix as Rangers most advanced for deal

Vaclav Cerny's return to Rangers remains a serious possibility.

The Czechia international gained cult hero status during his spell on loan at Ibrox in 2024-25.

Cerny not only scored and assisted a combined 27 goals for Rangers, he also won over supporters with his fighting spirit.

Not least with his infamous 'water squirting' antics during an Old Firm win at Celtic Park in March 2025.

Ibrox News exclusively revealed this week how Cerny could soon be freed up to return to Rangers.

And a fresh update has now emerged regarding Rangers and their interest in the right-winger.

Ibrox News also exclusively revealed how Mohamed Salah's agent is needed to help with Rangers' move for Cerny.

Rangers likely will not be alone with their interest in the 28-year-old.

However, Besiktas transfer specialist Talipcan, an account with close to 11,000 followers on X, including credible journalists, reported on Saturday that Rangers are "the most serious team" interested in Cerny.

It is also claimed that Besiktas will now evaluate any offers that formally come in for the attacker, who is believed to be valued around £6.9m.

And it may well be that Rangers have those funds ready to go on Cerny.

Why Rangers may have the money needed for Cerny

There has been plenty of coverage surrounding Rangers' interest in Jens Hjerto-Dahl.

The Gers are reported to have bid around £5.5m for the Norwegian midfielder, so the money is there.

Cerny, hailed a "different class" by Barry Ferguson during his spell in caretaker charge, would instantly solve a problem for Derek McInnes.

Rangers' squad is beginning to take shape nicely, but a high-quality winger is needed - especially on the right.

If Rangers can bring in a 10-goal wideman, who can also provide as many assists, that would take the workload off the strikers' shoulders.

Youssef Chermiti is set for a big season, while Lawrence Shankland is also a real coup, but Rangers may have yet more ammunition to add to their attacking arsenal.
