Rangers continue to be linked with a move for Jens Hjerto-Dahl.

The Norway under-21 international has remained a target throughout the summer transfer window.

He has been just one of many targets as Derek McInnes looks to add to the midfield conversation in G51.

The Scot has already done exactly that by bringing in Dan Neil, Cammy Devlin and Vanja Dragojevic.

They could soon have a telling impact at Ibrox, even with only the latter coming in for any sort of fee.

Spending could continue in Govan, with the the Gers learning how much they could pay to sign Hjerto-Dahl.

Tromso set latest Jens Hjerto-Dahl asking price

Links to the 20-year-old have been rife throughout the summer for the Light Blues.

He has seriously caught the eye in the Eliteserien having contributed to nine goals and assists in just 14 appearances this season.

That is an impressive tally and has seen interest be maintained at Ibrox for many weeks.

Rangers aren't the only side in the race with Ibrox News covering a bid from Cardiff City for Hjerto-Dahl earlier this week.

A report from Hull Live emerged on Thursday that Hull City have now entered the mix.

The Tigers are working on a deal after their promotion to the Premier League.

Tromso are now reportedly looking to secure a figure in the region of £8million for his signature this summer.

The goalposts continue to move, but this latest figure gives the Gers a figure to move towards.

What Rangers make of Jens Hjerto-Dahl and Jahnoah Markelo as double deal pondered

Will Rangers regret Vanja Dragojevic deal after Hjerto-Dahl latest?

An £8m move for the Norwegian would certainly represent a sizable spend for the Govan club.

That is especially the case having spent on Ivor Pandur before bringing in Dragojevic more recently.

The latter joined for £4m and will likely be hopeful of securing regular minutes off the back of that.

That could make an £8m move difficult for Hjerto-Dahl as there are already plenty of midfield options available in G51.

At such a sizable fee for the Ibrox club, it would pose a risk and could see some regret towards the Serbian.

A decision now hangs in the balance, but at least McInnes and Co. know how much they might have to spend moving forward.
