Tam McManus can't help but laugh as he begs Rangers-Hearts question after Cammy Devlin transfer
Rangers have continued their summer window with Cammy Devlin officially through the door.
The Australian international left Hearts on a free transfer after failing to agree new terms.
And not even 24 hours after his departure was confirmed, he was announced holding up the Rangers shirt.
Devlin's arrival marks the third new face at Ibrox this summer who has come directly from Tynecastle.
Both Lawrence Shankland and manager Derek McInnes have made the jump from Edinburgh to Glasgow.
Now, that reality has left Tam McManus laughing as he asks just one question following the latest transfer business at Ibrox.
What has Tam McManus now said about Rangers-Hearts?
McManus is not a very well-liked figure at both Tynecastle and Ibrox, and now he is looking to fan the flames more between the two fanbases.
After Rangers confirmed the signing of Devlin, the former footballer turned pundit could not help but comment on the situation.
Taking to X, the former Hibernian striker has begged the question on if Hearts are becoming Rangers' "feeder club."
He stated: "Are Hearts just Rangers feeder club now? Plundering them. Jeez" while also including the rolling on the floor laughing emoji.
While McManus is likely just looking to stir the pot between the fanbases, the recent business will certainly add another level of tension when Rangers face Hearts.
The first of those meetings will take place on 28 October, as a return to Tynecastle awaits Shankland, Devlin and McInnes.
Why this has become a wider Rangers-Hearts talking point
While Rangers and Hearts have always done business together or taken each other's free agents, such as John Souttar in 2022-2023, last season's title race has certainly played a role.
Every transfer between the two will undoubtedly be viewed through a completely different lens, even if McManus is simply fishing on social media.
In 2015-2016, when Danny Wilson and Jason Holt both swapped Tynecastle for Ibrox, there likely was not as much fanfare back then.
But the truth is, many neutrals will be hoping for a continued break-up of the Old Firm, with Hearts looking the likely contenders to do so.
With Rangers taking both their captain, Shankland and their manager, McInnes, those chances have been hit with a blow.
Rangers, however, are simply looking for the best players possible to improve their squad, and Devlin and Shankland fall under that umbrella after their season with Hearts.
