Rangers want Vanja Dragojevic and Lewis Ferguson as transfer record in sight
Rangers are continuing their push to sign Partizan midfielder Vanja Dragojevic this summer.
Derek McInnes is said to be keen on the Serbia international and negotiations are ongoing after an initial bid from the Gers.
The Scottish manager wants to add more numbers to his engine room after the arrival of Dan Neil and the 20-year-old is firmly in the Glaswegian outfit's sights.
Even if McInnes does manage to get a deal over the line for Dragojevic, it apparently wouldn't rule out a move for Lewis Ferguson from Bologna.
The Light Blues aren't taking a foot off the gas in terms of reinforcing their squad as Andrew Cavenagh continues to invest significantly.
With Ferguson starring at the World Cup for Scotland, he certainly won't come cheap, as a historic transfer window possibly awaits.
Where would Lewis Ferguson rank in most expensive Rangers transfers
It has previously been claimed that Bologna want over £17million for Ferguson amid interest from the Gers and other European clubs.
According to the Daily Record on 2 July, even if McInnes adds Dragojevic to his ranks, it won't rule out a move for the Scottish midfielder.
Tore Andre Flo is the Light Blues' most expensive transfer in history, moving to Ibrox for £12m from Chelsea in November 2000, when the concept of summer and winter windows wasn't a thing.
Youssef Chermiti became the second-most expensive arrival at the Govan side last summer, with Everton accepting £8m plus £2m in add-ons for the striker.
Ryan Kent and Michael Ball's signings are tied third after they were signed for £6.5m each, but a move for Ferguson would arguably blow the Glaswegian outfit's record transfer out of the water.
Ibrox summer spending spree compared to last
Rangers signed 13 players last summer under Kevin Thelwell as sporting director, with five coming on loan.
The Gers spent over £20m combined just on the transfer fees for Youssef Chermiti, Oliver Antman, Thelo Aasgaard, Bojan Miovski, Emmanuel Fernandez, Djeidi Gassama and Joe Rothwell.
With Ferguson in the Glaswegian outfit's sights, it could be a historic window in G51.
It will be interesting to see who else they sign after spending around £7m to sign Ivor Pandur, Ross McCrorie, Lawrence Shankland, Ben Godfrey and Neil this summer.
