Rangers submit £5.3m bid to sign Jens Hjerto-Dahl, Tromso respond
Jens Hjerto-Dahl and Rangers is a story that refuses to go away.
Despite Derek McInnes replacing Danny Rohl at the start of the summer, that hasn't slowed down transfer activity at Ibrox.
Rangers were even said to be sticking by the same transfer targets, regardless of that switch.
That has seen five new faces come through the door, with Lawrence Shankland kicking things off.
He was followed by Ross McCrorie, Ben Godfrey, Dan Neil and Ivor Pandur, but they aren't done there.
Hjerto-Dahl is still on the radar, and Rangers have made their move again.
Details of Rangers bid for Jans Hjerto-Dahl revealed
Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers have promised significant backing again, and they're delivering.
ITromso has reported that the Bears have made a £5.3million bid for the central midfielder.
Unfortunately, that has been rejected.
The Norweigian source stats that Tromso don't want to sell their crown jewel, with interest quickly growing this summer.
What does this mean for Rangers' midfield?
Changes are coming, and big ones at that.
With Nicolas Raskin and Thelo Aasgaard still at the World Cup, they are just two of the faces linked with exits from Ibrox.
Connor Barron and Mohamed Diomande are also possible exits, so McInnes will have his work cut out.
That leaves new signing Neil, and Tochi Chukwuani.
As links continue around Lewis Ferguson, there is the obvious suggestion that the Light Blues want more in midfield.
So, is Hjerto-Dahl the cheaper option to Ferguson?
That could be the case, but given the £5.3m bid has been rejected, he won't come cheap either in Scottish Premiership terms.
Rangers could bring in heaps of cash from Raskin alone, but if others join him on the way out, Cavenagh and the 49ers will be laughing.
They haven't actually spent too much as of now, given their work with free transfers, loans and the sale of Jack Butland.
So, that opens the door for them to be bolder with their cash, and that has been seen immediately with Hjerto-Dahl.
Linked for over a year now, could this summer finally bring him to Ibrox? It will take more than is on the table right now.
