Rangers now submit bid for Couhaib Driouech, PSV respond

Rangers have taken concrete steps to sign PSV Eindhoven winger Couhaib Driouech.

The Morocco youth international is the latest forward being linked with a move to the Gers.

Derek McInnes has made his feelings clear about attacking reinforcements at the Light Blues and the recruitment team are working towards it.

An initial bid has been sent from Ibrox for Driouech, who PSV are open to selling this transfer window.

The 24-year-old left-winger has failed to establish himself as the first choice since moving to the Philips Stadion in 2024.

Now, the attacker could be on his way to Glasgow as the Govan side learn the outcome of their offer.

Driouech is also attracting interest from Red Bull Salzburg, managed by Danny Rohl, but it's the Gers who seem to have taken the first steps.

With both clubs left impressed by the Moroccan attacker and serious about signing him, the Light Blues know what they must do next.

According to De Telegraaf on 5 August, the Gers have made contact with PSV, but have seen their offer rejected.

The Glaswegian outfit are attempting to make the winger, who is valued at around £6.8million, their 10th signing of the summer.

No details have been given on the amount the Govan side bid and they must now choose between going in with another offer or moving on to alternative targets.

Why Couhaib Driouech has caught the eye at Ibrox

Rangers fans will certainly have apprehensions about Driouech after his failure to make a mark at PSV.

The attacker started in just five of his 29 Eredivisie appearances last season and the Ibrox faithful may think they have no reason to get excited about his potential arrival.

What the Moroccan winger did produce when given the opportunities was four goals and six assists in the league, creating seven big chances and averaging 0.7 key passes per game, as per Sofascore.

Driouech looks more of a direct attacker, recording 1.3 shots per game and a top speed of 36 kilometres per hour.

It remains to be seen whether the Glaswegian outfit can get a deal over the line, but supporters can have plenty to be excited about with him.
