Rangers may already know Luke Graham fate after latest transfer delay
Rangers continue to wait on Dundee centre-back Luke Graham in the ongoing transfer window.
The Gers have been heavily linked with the 22-year-old in recent months, but the saga around his future is dragging on this summer.
As things stand, Emmanuel Fernandez and John Souttar are the only two natural centre-backs at Derek McInnes disposal, with Ben Godfrey expected to come in to bolster the defence soon.
While there's still room for someone like Graham to move to Ibrox ahead of next season, there seems to be a delay around his situation at Dundee.
The Scottish youngster established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the William Hill Premiership in the 2025-26 campaign and it wouldn't be surprising to see him get a big move soon.
For now, all eyes will be on what Graham decides in the coming days, with plenty of reported interest in him.
Rangers face possible Luke Graham blow
Graham isn't short of suitors this summer after playing a key role for Steven Pressley at Dundee, with the defender making 36 league appearances in the current campaign.
Alan Nixon shared on 28 June that the young centre-back was due to decide on his future 24 hours earlier, before the Dee travelled to Hungary for pre-season.
Portsmouth have been linked with Graham and it remains to be seen who will win the race for the promising talent.
The Glaswegian outfit's surprising push to sign Godfrey on loan from Atalanta may indicate they already know the Scottish centre-back won't be coming to Ibrox anytime soon.
Derek McInnes can turn to Auchehowie
Rangers arguably need a couple of additions at centre-back to ensure they have a strong enough squad to compete on all fronts next season.
To increase depth in the first-team squad, McInnes could potentially call up some of the promising academy defenders like Jack Wyllie, who spent time on loan at Kelty Hearts last season, and Oliver Hynd, from whom many within the club have high hopes.
Some of the players have already reported for pre-season training in Govan, where the former Hearts boss will likely make initial assessments on who fits his plans at Ibrox.
