Rangers have been very busy to kickstart their summer at Ibrox.

It all started within days of the Scottish Premiership season finishing, as Lawrence Shankland signed from Hearts.

The Scotland international joined his boyhood club for a bargain free transfer, after clauses in his contract were activated.

If Tynecastle wasn't happy about that, it would only get worse.

After Danny Rohl was poached by RB Salzburg, Rangers managed to upgrade and appoint Derek McInnes after years of speculation.

With McInnes set to return to Auchenhowie next week, all eyes are now on further additions in the transfer market.

Who else could join Rangers?

Andrew Cavenagh, alongside the 49ers Enterprises have promised significant backing again in the transfer window.

With big-money loan signings returning to their clubs and sales to follow, millions could be spent yet again under the Americans.

Shankland was the perfect exemption, but much more is needed in defence and the final third.

Luke Graham of Dundee is a target that refuses to go away.

Alan Nixon has reported via his Patreon that £1.5million is enough to sign the Scottish enforcer, as Rangers continue to hover.

Unfortunately, so do plenty of clubs in England with Portsmouth, Stoke and Derby offering routes into the Championship.

Graham may not fancy a possible rotation role at Ibrox under McInnes, so this is far from settled yet.

Who else could Rangers sign in defence?

It's set to be a very busy summer at the back.

James Tavernier, Jayden Meghoma and Nasser Djiga have all left Govan, opening up several gaps for new signings.

Tuur Rommens, John Souttar, Emmanuel Fernandez and Dujon Sterling is the current back four for McInnes.

While that is very strong, there is zero depth or competition to push them even further.

As well as Graham, Westerlo right-back Bryan Reynolds has been linked, as well as centre-back Casper Widell from Excelsior.

Either way, it shows a real intent for Rangers and McInnes to strengthen from the back moving forwards.

Graham may not have been sold on Rangers previously, but with McInnes knowing Scottish football perfect, it could change his mind.

All it does show right now is that the Bears are very busy in the background.
