Rangers have 'real asset' in Ivor Pandur as agreement reached after what's seen at Ibrox
Rangers will be satisfied with Ivor Pandur after a mixed start to the season.
Derek McInnes' team failed to keep a clean sheet in their first five matches and were subsequently knocked out of the Europa League and Conference League.
The Gers have now kept five clean sheets in their last six matches, with the Croatian ace pulling off some important saves.
Pandur moved to Ibrox for around £6million in the summer, with Jack Butland going the other way to Hill City for £3m.
The Light Blues effectively spent a small amount on the 26-year-old shot-stopper who was one of the best goalkeepers in the English Championship last season.
As the former Fortuna Sittard ace slowly finds his feet at the Glaswegian outfit, he has received high praise from legends of the game.
What's being said about Ivor Pandur at Rangers
McInnes is in love with Pandur, who has brought a calming influence to the Gers' backline.
The backline seems to have a lot of confidence in the Croatia international's abilities and that has reflected in recent matches.
Jim Stewart, who played for the Light Blues and later served as their goalkeeping coach for nearly 10 years, has backed Pandur's signing.
The Glaswegian outfit's icon, Peter McCloy, also has no doubts about the young goalkeeper's quality after seeing him live at Ibrox against Motherwell.
Speaking to the Rangers Review on 6 October, Stewart said, "He has shown qualities that would suggest that he will become a real asset to the club.
"You try and assess Pandur over this period of games and you look at the qualities he brings to the team. He looks confident, he looks composed with the ball at his feet.
"I was at the Motherwell game and looked at him. I was there with Big Peter, and the two of us looked at him.
"Peter's seen him more than me and we're in agreement that there's a goalkeeper there and hopefully over the piece that will be shown this year and the steps that have been made in the last couple of months will continue."
How Ibrox transfer strategy can now pay off
Rangers have a more valuable squad than Celtic after recent investment from Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises.
The Gers have made several new additions to their squad since the summer of 2025, and while some signings have been underwhelming, many have begun to shine.
Pandur could be one of the players the Light Blues make a significant profit on in the coming years.
Emmanuel Fernandez, Olwethu Makhanya, Nicolas Raskin and Youssef Chermiti can all play a role in building a sustainable player-trading model in G51.
If the Govan side can back up the money they've spent with major honours this season, there will surely be plenty of interest in players from top teams across Europe.
