Rangers look to have taken a step clear of Celtic in the financial stakes.

Derek McInnes has had the perfect start to life in charge of the Gers when facing their Old Firm rivals.

Any early season concerns have been wiped away by back-to-back derby wins in the League Cup and Premiership.

A lone Ryan Naderi strike proved to be the difference at Parkhead last time around.

That has made it six wins on the bounce in all competitions as the Gers continue their efforts to move up the table.

This spike in form has coincided with a new financial reveal that will be music to ears of everyone at Ibrox.

Rangers trend continues hold over Celtic

Things aren't going well for Martin O'Neill's side right now.

The Light Blues have certainly taken advantage with the two latest victories in the Old Firm.

That has certainly boosted the positive feeling around G51, especially with summer signings like Ivor Pandur, Olwethu Makhanya and Dan Neil coming good.

The Ibrox hierarchy have now been handed a further positive as Transfermarkt gives a peek behind the curtain at Premiership squad values.

Rangers currently sit top of the tree at £132million, £27m clear of their closest rivals Celtic in second.

The value in Govan has gone up by 4.6 per cent in this October update, while the Hoops have seen an increase of 4.1 per cent to £105m.

That has opened up a gap between the two, but there will be one thing that McInnes and Co. want to change.

Parkhead exit confirmed: Are dominoes starting to fall at Celtic after Rangers double?

Why Celtic are still giving Rangers nightmares

There is no doubt that having a financial buffer to Celtic will be a boost to everyone at Ibrox.

It is proof that the Gers are trending in the right direction after some frustrating years.

Some of their transfer business is working and it is helping them to sit above the Parkhead outfit.

The one issue remains with the Premiership table.

Celtic remain top on 18 points with seven games played, with Rangers in second with 16 points.

An Old Firm win last time out helped close that gap, but McInnes will be keen to turn it around entirely.

If he can do that and seal a first title in G51 for five-years, his side will certainly have all the bragging rights over their Old Firm enemy.
