Rangers handed Couhaib Driouech medical update amid concerns over recent injury

Rangers' move for Couhaib Driouech is moving closer as the winger is set for a medical.

Derek McInnes' side have been needing refreshed options out on the wing, and that has been ever so clear in the opening three games of the season.

Driouech has seen a short-winded transfer saga play out, as teams such as Celta Vigo threatened to hijack the deal.

However, all signs are now pointing towards the Moroccan youth international signing on the dotted line at Ibrox.

Fans will have to wait to hear the outcome of his medical, as he will first have to pass that

And his recent injury issues at PSV are propping up as a concern with an answer provided on how that will affect his medical.

Will Couhaib Driouech injury affect his Rangers medical?

Driouech was left out of PSV's squad to face AZ Alkmaar due to a small injury, and then he was not included in their most recent match against Fortuna Sittard.

Concerns over that injury have been popping up on social media with Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink now directly responding to it.

A PSV supporter asked him if that injury would cause issues during his upcoming Rangers medical.

The reporter responded on X saying: "Tomorrow is indeed Driouech's medical examination. It is not expected that this little pain will cause any further issues.

"And a tablet of Ibroxprofen against the transfer fever will probably help too. More tomorrow or the day after. Deal until 2030 and 8 million to PSV."

The Eindhoven outfit's supporters are rightfully wary ahead of the move, as PSV have seen many transfer exits collapse due to the medical.

But it certainly seems that Driouech is in good shape ahead of his Rangers tests with it expected to go smoothly.

Could Driouech feature against Jagellonia?

With Driouech set for his medical on Tuesday, 11 August, if all goes well, he could be announced that evening or the following day.

Luckily, that should still leave enough time for the winger to be eligible to play in the second leg of Europa League qualifying against Jagellonia.

As seen with Daisuke Yokota last week, the Japanese winger was announced on the Wednesday and selected to start the next day.

And that was with the game away from home.

However, while the "little ache" won't impact his medical, it may hurt his ability to feature against the Polish side at Ibrox.

For now, it will simply be a wait and see if he is fit to play but he should have no problem being registered.
