Couhaib Driouech medical scheduled at Rangers - but PSV track record raises doubts over completion
Couhaib Driouech's medical has now been pencilled in at Rangers.
The Gers have had a £7million bid accepted by PSV, with the player now expected to fly to Scotland.
The Light Blues have already added Daisuke Yokota, but there is space for one more player on the flanks.
Derek McInnes will be delighted as his side are crying out for a creative presence on the flanks.
All that is left now is for the Glasgow side and the player to complete the formalities.
However, there is reason to be concerned due to the Eindhoven club's recent dealings.
What could collapse Couhaib Driouech deal as medical scheduled?
Rangers were expecting Driouech to arrive in the next 24 hours, and a medical has now been scheduled.
A report from Dutch outfit De Telegraaf on Monday claims that it will happen in Glasgow on Tuesday.
It states that the Bears have beaten Celta Vigo to his signature, blowing them out of the water.
It also mentions something that will put doubts on whether the deal will be completed, PSV have had three transfers fall through at the last-minute.
Ricardo Pepi's potential switch to Fulham, Armando Obispo's move to RC Lens, and Adamo Nagalo's transfer to FK Corum all collapsed when essentially done.
Why Rangers can be confident over Driouech deal completion
The Bears can be confident that the same will not happen, as the money on offer for Driouech means that it is very tempting to the Dutch side.
The deal for Pepi collapsed as the Premier League side wanted the chance to back out if he got injured, but the selling club would not allow that.
Obispo's proposed exit collapsed due to personal terms, and the Govan side have already agreed a four-year deal with the player, so that should not be an issue.
Nagalo's transfer break down was also due to personal terms, so McInnes should not worried that the same will happen to his side.
Driouech should become a Gers player, barring any late hitches, as he does not fit the same criteria that saw the other moves break down.
He has to pass the medical, but that should be the only hurdle.
