Couhaib Driouech set to arrive in Scotland within 24 hours to seal Rangers move
Couhaib Driouech is set to fly to Scotland imminently to secure his Rangers transfer.
Derek McInnes has been desperate for a new winger to bring creativity to his side, after a dismal start to the campaign.
The Gers have had the PSV star on their radar for a while, but there were concerns that Celta Vigo may hijack the deal.
However, the Light Blues have come out on top, in the race for the 24-year-old.
The formalities of the deal still need to be completed, though, before he is an official Ibrox star.
An update on his whereabouts suggests that it is simply a matter of time before that happens.
Couhaib Driouech formalities set to take place shortly
Rangers have agreed a £7million deal to sign the player who notched nine goals and eight assists in all competitions last season.
He is set to sign a four-year contract in Govan, per Rangers Review's Chris Jack.
A report from the Scottish Sun on 10 August claims that Driouech will fly to Scotland within 24 hours.
It states that barring any late hitches, he will complete his move to the Bears.
Why Driouech could be a difference maker for Rangers
The G51 side are begging for a game changer, who can come in and add unpredictability and quality.
So far, they have been abject, losing to Jagiellonia and Hibernian and drawing with Dundee United.
Driouech's numbers from last season suggest that he can be the difference maker for McInnes' side, and he has also has Champions League experience.
However, it will be a tough task to do that on his own, and the Bears need other players to step up too, if they are to have any chance of overhauling Celtic.
They are already five points behind their arch-rivals after just two matches, so they have a mountain to climb, but signing a new attacker could help them to bridge the gap.
Andrew Cavenagh has claimed that he is still trying to secure three to five more additions, and that is the bare minimum, if the side are to get back into contention.
Whether they can do it with their new star leading the line, remains to be seen.
