Old Firm clubs battle it out for Fares Ghedjemis - but will Rangers or Celtic win the race?
The 23-year-old enjoyed a superb 2025-26 season for a number of reasons.
Firstly, his Frosinone team finished second in Italy's Serie B, earning automatic promotion to Serie A for 2026-27.
Then on an individual level, Ghedjemis scored 15 goals and provided three assists, as well as being part of the Algerian team that reached the round of 32 at this summer's World Cup.
As a result, his stock has dramatically increased from this time last year, when the winger was coming off the back of a 2024-25 campaign where he'd netted just twice in 21 Serie B games.
But will it be Celtic or Rangers who secures his services this summer? The answer to that may have already been revealed.
How much Fares Ghedjemis could cost Celtic or Rangers
Ibrox News has covered reports suggesting that Rangers were pushing to sign Ghedjemis from Frosinone this summer.
However, some cold water may now have been poured on that, as Gers' interest levels in the young winger may not be as fierce as has been suggested.
According to a report from The Herald, Rangers are said to be prioritising other targets instead of Ghedjemis, with one of those being Brighton's Amario Cozier-Duberry.
Celtic, on the other hand, appear more keen on prioritising the Algerian's signing, with the report claiming that the Parkhead side have revived their interest in him after failing to get a deal done for him in January.
It's stated that Ghedjemis' value sits at around £8million, meaning he'd be an expensive addition for either side to make, but one that could make all the difference in the title race.
So, who would be the better signing for Rangers, Ghedjemis or Cozier-Duberry?
How Ghedjemis' and Cozier-Duberry's 2025-26 numbers compare
It's fair to say that Rangers fans wouldn't be disappointed to see either one of Ghedjemis or Cozier-Duberry make a move to Ibrox this summer.
Both of these young wingers look to have very bright futures ahead of them, and so if Gers chiefs had the pick of them both, it would be a tough decision to make.
So, can their underlying numbers from 2025-26 help point towards who might be the wiser investment for Gers to make?
As per FotMob, in 37 Serie B games last term, Ghedjemis registered 18 goal contributions (15 goals, three assists) whilst in 34 League One outings, Cozier-Duberry also provided the exact same amount too (eight goals, 10 assists).
Ghedjemis created 55 chances to Cozier-Duberry's 53, whilst the former also took more shots (106) and put more on target (37) than the latter's 97 attempts and 32 on target.
However, Cozier-Duberry did deliver 23 successful crosses to Ghedjemis' 15, completed 65 dribbles to the Algerian's 62 and won 134 duels to his 120.
The area where Cozier-Duberry really stands out compared to Ghedjemis is defensively, as he recorded 37 tackles to his 12, made 14 interceptions to the Frosinone star's two, made 127 recoveries to his 86 and won 26 possessions in the final third as opposed to the latter's 13.
Overall then, perhaps in terms of out-and-out attacking potency and goalscoring ability, Ghedjemis would be the better choice for Rangers.
But, the more well-rounded talent appears to be Cozier-Duberry, so it would very much be a case of personal preference for Derek McInnes.
