Kris Boyd: I'd hate to see what's on the cards for Findlay Curtis materialise at Rangers
Kris Boyd believes that a loan move is the best outcome for Rangers star Findlay Curtis this season.
The 20-year-old spent last season on loan with Kilmarnock, where he notched six goals and one assist.
Gers fans were excited to see what he could do with an increased chance in the senior side, but he may not get the chance to showcase his ability.
Rangers are closing in on a move for PSV star Couhaib Driouech after already adding Daisuke Yokota to their ranks.
That would push the homegrown talent further down the pecking order, which could harm his long-term development.
Boyd thinks that the solution is for the Auchenhowie product to depart on a temporary basis again.

Rangers' flanks have been one of their biggest issues so far this season, with a lack of creativity hampering Derek McInnes in their opening day draw with Dundee United.
Chris Sutton asked Boyd whether Curtis was the answer to the problem, and his response was emphatic.
Speaking on the Warm Up podcast on Monday, he said: “No, I think Findlay Curtis is a terrific young talent, I would hate to see him wasted.
“He went to Kilmarnock last season, and got regular football, found himself in the Scotland squad, rightly so because of his performances at Kilmarnock, but it is going to be back to maybe five to ten minutes here and there.
“It’s something that stunts the growth of our youngsters and I think for Scottish football we need to find a way, I think there needs to be rule changes, to allow our youngsters to get more game time.
“For me, looking at it right now, he has to go back on loan.”
There would be plenty of interest in the five-cap international if he was made available to leave Glasgow.
Where could Curtis end up if a loan is sanctioned?
The most obvious solution would be a return to Kilmarnock, as he is comfortable there already, under former Ibrox man Neil McCann.
The added bonus would be that he would link up with Light Blues academy teammate Bailey Rice again, who is also on loan there for the season from the Bears.
Other Scottish Premiership sides would surely be interesting in taking the Govan ace for a campaign, but the Ayrshire outfit would likely be the favoured destination given his previous exploits there.
The player has admitted himself that he is not willing to sit on the sidelines, saying: "You can't really sit on the bench at this age."
While he is aiming for a starting place under McInnes, if it is made clear that it is not a realistic option, he would surely be keen to rejoin the Rugby Park side.
He has shown that he can fit in there, and contribute regularly, so it would make sense for all parties, if a loan move is what is decided upon.
