How much Rangers are demanding for Djeidi Gassama as AS Monaco make late transfer move

Djeidi Gassama has been touted for a late move away from Rangers, with AS Monaco now in the race.

Gassama has been an important figure around Ibrox since his move from Sheffield Wednesday, but has had times of struggle in Glasgow.

However, the prospect of a return to France, where he first broke through, has now emerged.

Derek McInnes is looking to finalise his squad for this campaign and losing a player that has regularly featured this late in the window may not be ideal.

Rangers' stance over a move though, appears to suggest this exit could have some legs.

Are Rangers open to selling Djeidi Gassama?

In an ideal world, Rangers will not allow Gassama to depart, but should another team reach their valuation, it appears they may be open to doing so.

Rangers have rejected two bids already for Gassama with not long left to go in the window.

According to journalist Sebastien Denis, who reports for Footmercato, AS Monaco are now back in the hunt for Gassama and have made a move.

The report shares that Rangers are "willing to sell" but they would rather keep the winger this summer window.

Should a sale be sanctioned, the Gers are seeking to earn around £8.5million for the Mauritanian forward.

So far under Derek McInnes, Gassama has been a sporadic starter for the Scotsman.

He has featured in six games but has only started three of those games.

Rangers currently have five wingers in their squad and have been looking to bring another attacker in this summer.

That would leave them quite bloated in that department, which may be why they are open to a sale.

Who could replace Gassama?

Rangers have been highly active in the winger market this summer and at the moment the most notable link is to Amario Cozier-Duberry.

The Cozier-Duberry has reportedly signed a new contract, but the Seagulls are reportedly open to a loan deal.

And confirmation of that new deal is still yet to be publicised.

Rangers have been seeking a permanent move for the Englishman, so whether they would be willing to simply take him on loan remains to be seen.

But if Gassama does depart, then the Bears may have to pull the trigger to ensure McInnes is not left with missing gaps within his squad.
