Djeidi Gassama could be set to reunite with former Rangers manager Danny Rohl at RB Salzburg.

The Mauritanian winger has been picking up plenty of interest over the last week.

Rangers want around £8.5million for Gassama in order to sanction the forward's sale.

But, they would rather keep Gassama at Ibrox for the upcoming season.

However, now former boss Rohl could be set to test that resolve amid the latest emerging on Gassama's future.

What has been said about RB Salzburg's interest in Rangers' Djeidi Gassama?

Gassama is a key player for Derek McInnes, and that was proven with the 22-year-old starting against Aberdeen today.

However, there is a chance that could be his last ever game for the Ibrox side.

According to journalist Santi Aouna, reporting for Footmercato, RB Salzburg have now sent an offer for Gassama.

Other clubs are said to be in the race, with the uncertainty over Gassama's future now heating up with days left of the window.

Details of what has been put forward by the Austrian has not yet emerged.

If Rangers are to sanction the wingers' departure, they would need to bring a replacement in, which would see them face a race against the deadline.

Clubs in Scotland do have some leeway, though, with their deadline ending much later than most of Europe.

Rangers would have until 3 September at 5 PM to bring in another winger.
