Kevin Kelsy is finally en route to complete his move to Rangers.

Despite agreeing a £9.5million fee with Portland Timbers earlier in the week, immediate hold ups started to present themselves.

Kelsy's need for a visa took up most of the week, but that appears to have been finally sorted.

Derek McInnes is in desperate need of even more signings, as things go from bad to worse at Ibrox.

Out of Europe completely and eight points behind Celtic already in the Scottish Premiership, it's a mess right now.

What is latest state of play with Kevin Kelsy?

Thankfully, Rangers have an extended deadline of 3 September for transfers, two days more than those in England.

And now, according to the Sunday Mail in its print edition, Kelsy is finally on his way to Glasgow after saying goodbye to his teammates on Wednesday.

The newspaper states on 30 August that the Venezuelan striker had to then fly to San Francisco to complete the necessary paperwork before moving to Scotland.

Having played in Europe with Shakhtar Donetsk, Kelsy will arrive knowing what to expect from this side of the world.

Why do Rangers desperately want Kevin Kelsy?

Despite 12 new signings already, more are needed.

Lawrence Shankland looks like a shadow of the figure at Hearts last season, with Ryan Naderi and Bojan Miovski also just average.

With Youssef Chermiti likely out for the season with his ACL blow, it's no surprise that McInnes wanted someone else.

Scoring in the Champions League and Europa League while in Ukraine, Kelsy brings a different level of skill to Govan, and it's needed.

While he won't be available against Aberdeen on Sunday, hopefully things progress behind the scenes that he can make his debut at Falkirk in midweek.
