Willie Collum urged to give advice after latest Rangers controversy
Willie Collum should offer advice to referee Duncan Nicolson after he awarded Rangers a controversial penalty against Motherwell.
That is the verdict of former Premier League official Keith Hackett, who shared his views exclusively to Ibrox News.
Nicolson pointed to the spot in the first half of Rangers' 1-0 win at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.
That came after a coming together between Tom Sparrow and Djeidi Gassama.
Minsu Kim missed from the spot in what Motherwell thought was an act of justice being done.
Mark Clattenburg was shocked Rangers were awarded the pen, and Hackett fully agrees with that view.

You would have thought that Kim missing the spot-kick meant this incident went under the radar.
Not so, however, with many chiming in on the decision to point to the spot.
Hackett believes it was the wrong call and has urged Collum, the head of refereeing operations at the SFA, to give Nicolson some advice to avoid a repeat.
"I hope that, in this situation, the referee and his boss Willie Collum look at this and review it," he said.
"What advice can Willie Collum, as a top-class former referee, give to this referee on that particular decision?
"How can he judge it better next time? Or do they agree that this is a correct penalty kick? And if that's the case, then communicate it, as Willie Collum often does, to the media and to the fans.
"I thought it was a soft penalty kick. I think that we're forgetting sometimes contact is part of the sport."

Kim missed the second of those, while Lawrence Shankland successfully converted in the 1-0 win over Aberdeen.
No team has been awarded more in the division this campaign, with Hearts, Hibernian and Motherwell also on two.
Celtic, for what it is worth, are one of four teams yet to have been given a pen this campaign.
