Rangers fans to cover their eyes as Leicester supporters buy into Russell Martin's waffle
Rangers fans will get nightmare flashbacks from Russell Martin after seeing him win over Leicester City supporters early on.
The Bears appointed the former Southampton boss just over a year ago, in what turned out to be the pivotal decision that arguably cost their season from the off.
Martin had a historically poor start at Ibrox, which made him quickly fall out of favour with the fans, to say the least.
He was never the top pick out of the candidates to replace former interim head coach Barry Ferguson, but his early statements and character won some over.
Things undoubtedly changed for the better once Danny Rohl came in, who was a breath of fresh air at the time.
Now, Martin finds himself in the third tier of English football with Leicester, and Rangers fans will literally cringe at the latest footage emerging from the Foxes' pre-season.
Russell Martin works his spell on Leicester fans, but the warning is clear
Leicester have been relegated to League One, having only won the Premier League 16 years ago.
While it could be argued for or against that the Foxes aren't as big as the Gers, people would agree over their confusion at how Martin keeps landing these types of jobs.
The aim for him this season is simple: get promoted. If he doesn't, he'll have another sack on his CV.
Martin worked his waffle on some Rangers fans early on, but it all turned out to be a load of rubbish in the end, as some recognised from the off.
Now, the former Scottish international is already up to his old tricks, this time with the Foxes and their fans.
As seen in the X post above, a Leicester fan has caught the moment where Martin is seen speaking to the travelling supporters after a pre-season game.
It appears the footage has been well received among the Foxes' fanbase, which Rangers fans will surely cringe at.
This is nothing new from Martin; it's his way of trying to get the fans on board for what will be a long, long journey.
However, Martin and Rangers' story continues over this summer.
How Rangers are already in talks with Martin's Leicester
Ibrox News has already reported that Martin wants to sign John Souttar, who has not travelled with Derek McInnes' side to the pre-season camp in Spain.
The centre-back joins Danilo and a list of others who could soon depart the Bears, but the talks with Martin's Leicester don't stop there.
Rangers are willing to spend £7million on Stephy Mavididi, who does not want to stay with the Foxes in League One.
It's been said that the winger is someone who would thrive under McInnes, but time would prove that.
If either deal does happen, let's hope Rangers get the better one on their former Ibrox head coach. Sorry, Leicester fans.
