Rangers loanee Nedim Bajrami has been impressing for Al-Taawoun.

The Bears allowed the winger to join the Saudi Pro League side on an initial season-long loan in the summer.

The Saudi outfit has an option to buy the 27-year-old permanently at the end of the season, with the fee believed to be in the region of £2.5million.

Derek McInnes was open to giving everyone a chance at Auchenhowie in the summer, but decided that Bajrami was going to be surplus to his requirements.

The Gers welcomed several wingers towards the end of the window, and no room was left for the left-sided attacker, leaving the door open for his move to the Middle East.

Bajrami featured in Al-Taawoun's game against Al Riyadh on Saturday and left an impression.

Nedim Bajrami hailed for the 'spectacular' away from Rangers

Bajrami played the majority of his football for Rangers in his first season with the Light Blues.

He featured 44 times, but only managed to grab a combined nine goals and assists across all competitions.

The Albanian was given minimal game time last term under both Danny Rohl and Russell Martin, which always made a summer exit look likely.

Bajrami has had a slow start in Saudi Arabia, but got on the scoresheet for the first time after playing in his 11th game for Al-Taawoun.

He scored six minutes after coming off the bench, though his team still lost 2-1 to Al Riyadh.

Newsport.al wrote: "Six minutes later on the pitch, Bajrami "shook the net" with a spectacular long-range goal."

Arriyadiyah also acknowledged Bajrami's strike, labelling him as the "playmaker" who made a difference from the bench.

Cornerflick gave him a 6.6 rating, which was perhaps slightly harsh considering the impact he made in just 18 minutes of playing time.

Why Nedim Bajrami has been blocked from continental football after Rangers loan exit

What has Kris Boyd said about Bajrami?

It became apparent early on that Bajrami was not going to be in McInnes' plans, as his Rangers exit was in the works well ahead of the deadline.

The winger has been a flop since arriving at Ibrox, and given the performance of the Gers' current wingers, it's hard to see how he would have made any impact.

Kris Boyd shared his thoughts on Bajrami just before he left to join Al Taawoun, suggesting that the Gers could have done with his quality after a 1-1 draw to Dundee United.

He said: "It looks like Bajrami is going. I've always thought there's a player in there.

"Rangers are trying to move him on to bring other players in. He was someone who you felt as if he got on the ball and maybe slipped those little balls through, but it's not to be."

Perhaps Boyd has changed his mind since, given that Bajrami has only just scored his first goal.
