Kris Boyd believes Nedim Bajrami could have made an impact for Rangers against Dundee United.

Derek McInnes made some big calls in his first competitive match as the new Gers boss, which resulted in a 1-1 draw against the Terrors at Tannadice on Friday.

Thelo Aasgaard's second-half strike meant that the Bears didn't leave empty handed, though a draw simply isn't good enough.

Jim Goodwin's side exposed multiple areas that the Light Blues need to fix up on fast, as a lack of creativity remains an issue.

That was clearly the case when McInnes made multiple changes throughout the game, with both Dan Neil and Youssef Chermiti coming on at halftime.

One of the last players many Rangers fans would say could have made a difference against Dundee United would most likely be Bajrami, but Boyd has a different opinion.

Ibrox News has covered reports that Rangers are in talks to offload Bajrami this summer.

Saudi Pro League club Al Taawoun want to sign the 27-year-old, who was left out of the squad that travelled to face Dundee United.

It's said that the Albanian could join the Middle Eastern side on an initial loan move that holds a future buy clause worth around £2.5million.

Other clubs are waiting in the wings to sign Bajrami, as the forward looks set to end his Ibrox nightmare soon.

Despite the forward impressing little to no one, Boyd of all people believes that the player could have made a difference for McInnes against Dundee United.

While speaking after the match on Sky Sports, Boyd said: "It looks like Bajrami is going. I've always thought there's a player in there.

"Rangers are trying to move him on to bring other players in. He was someone who you felt as if he got on the ball and maybe slipped those little balls through, but it's not to be.

"I think he's going to move onto pastures new."

Yes, Rangers suffered in the final third with a lack of creativity, but when looking at this opinion in detail, it proves to be an underwhelming take from Boyd.

Bajrami creativity evidence proves Boyd completely wrong

Bajrami, like many other Rangers players, were given a fresh chance to impress McInnes during pre-season.

But it appears the former Hearts boss has made his mind up on the winger fairly quickly, with his exit set to go through one way or another.

Bajrami has spent two seasons at Ibrox, assisting just twice in the Scottish Premiership in a combined 40 appearances.

To say that Bajrami would have done better than any of those other players on the pitch is a little excessive, if that's what Boyd was trying to suggest.

The point still stands though: the Bears need to sign someone who can offer creativity from wide areas.
