Derek McInnes delivered some mixed team news ahead of Rangers' clash with Dundee on Saturday evening.

The Gers make the trip to Dens Park looking to climb above Celtic, who are at home to Hearts the following day.

Rangers have been without Youssef Chermiti and Lawrence Shankland for a while now, but the other attackers have stepped up.

Cammy Devlin had been Rangers' other absentee of note, with Dujon Sterling now back in action after an illness bug last week.

However, another player has been added to the mid-term injury layoff list.

McInnes shared an update on that, plus the latest on Chermiti, at Friday's pre-match press conference.

Who's latest Rangers player to be ruled out?

Sterling's return ahead of the Dundee match is a big positive, with McInnes confirming the full-back is available for selection.

McInnes also shared that Chermiti "is doing really well" but knows he has a long way still to go before returning.

The striker sustained a long-term injury in Rangers' first home match of the campaign two months ago.

Chermiti was expected to miss nine months, pretty much taking up the whole season, but McInnes has said there is still a chance he could be back beforehand.

In more negative news, Ross McCrorie has been ruled out for three months with a hamstring injury.

McCrorie was previously hailed a "Roll Royce of a player" by McInnes while he was at Aberdeen.

The 28-year-old returned to Ibrox this summer after five years away and has made six appearances in all competitions, mainly as a substitute.

Which games will Ross McCrorie now miss?

McCrorie has been a squad player for McInnes, and losing any player right now is not great news.

Assuming he is out for the full three weeks, that would see the versatile midfielder and full-back sit out the games with Dundee, St Johnstone and Hearts in the league, as well as Aberdeen in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final.

He could be back for the trip to St Mirren on 7 November, otherwise it will then be after the international break - against Motherwell on 21 November - that we next see him in a Rangers shirt.
