Rangers: Danny Rohl’s exit comments assessed as Wolfsburg manager update reveals truth
Rangers boss Danny Rohl previously admitted that he did not want to join Wolfsburg despite being linked with the job.
The recently relegated Bundesliga side have been searching for a new manager, and Rohl was reportedly a big “favourite” just last month.
It was then revealed that the Gers boss previously admitted that he wishes to coach in Germany one day, which sparked uncertainty at Ibrox.
Not long after that, some Rangers fans would have probably said that they would have happily driven the 37-year-old to Wolfsburg after he orchestrated Gers’ downfall in the league.
Regardless, Rohl suggested he did not want to leave Rangers, and it appears his comments over a possible departure were true.

What has been said about Wolfsburg job amid Danny Rohl links?
Rohl was tipped to leave Rangers for Wolfsburg as part of an exit strategy that may have suited both him and the 49ers.
The now Bundesliga .2 outfit would have had to pay Andrew Cavenagh some compensation for the former Sheffield Wednesday boss, but Gers have decided to stick with their man anyway.

When asked about the links to Wolfsburg before the final Old Firm clash of the season, Rohl was quick to shut the rumours down.
He said: “My full focus is on Rangers, as I have one focus: to win trophies and bring success to the club.”
Now, the Daily Record have reported that Tobias Strobl is the man that Wolfsburg want, following their relegation, with their “sights set” on a clear number one target for the role.

So it appears that even if Rohl was approached, he clearly turned the opportunity down, but it’s good to know moving forward, either way.
Danny Rohl has now abided key Rangers law
For all of Rohl’s stick, he has been open and honest about lots of things, and rarely tries to sugarcoat the truth.
He was strong in his denial of the Wolfsburg job, and now that it seems he was telling the truth, he may have gained some more trust from fans.
One Rangers rule you simply cannot break is lying about things like this; you have to show loyalty to the Ibrox faithful, despite the evident frustration directed his way.

Nothing has been reported to date indicating that the Rangers head coach was even in talks with Wolfsburg, only that the German club wanted him.
Either way, the 49ers and Rohl can ignore the outside noise now and focus on bringing trophies back to Ibrox next season.
