Nedim Bajrami: Rangers outcast has Ibrox fate sealed as Findlay Curtis contract action mooted
Nedim Bajrami may be about to move closer to the Rangers exit door, as Gers are reportedly looking to tie down Findlay Curtis.
The 27-year-old Albanian international joined Ranger from Sassuolo in the summer of 2024, and has endured a frustrating two years at Ibrox so far.
2024-25 saw the versatile forward make 44 total appearances for Gers in all competitions, scoring five goals and providing four assists.
However, 2025-26 saw him turn out just 19 times in all competitions, netting twice and providing one assist respectively, whilst starting a mere three Scottish Premiership games.
As such, there are significant question marks over Bajrami’s future ahead of the summer transfer window, and a fresh update on Gers’ plan for Curtis makes for even more grim reading as far as the former is concerned.
🚨 RANGERS TRANSFER UPDATE 🚨
The latest breaking news on signings, departures, and Danny Röhl’s primary targets.
What’s the latest on Rangers and Findlay Curtis’ contract?
After making 21 appearances in all competitions for Rangers during the first half of the 2025-26 season, Curtis spent the second half of the campaign out on loan with Kilmarnock.
There he would score five goals and register one assist from 14 games, helping the 19-year-old to further his growing reputation as one of the most exciting young attackers in Scottish football.
| Curtis’ 25-26 league stats | Total |
| Goals per 90 | 0.43 |
| Shots per game | 3.62 |
| Chances created per 90 | 1.42 |
| Duels won per game | 7.59 |
| Average match rating | 7.25 |
Fears over Rangers losing Curtis after his World Cup call-up have now grown too, with the potential for him to shine on the biggest stage of all this summer with Scotland exposing him to the watching eyes of scouts from across the globe.
It will come as a huge relief to Gers supporters then to hear that the club are trying to sign Curtis to a new contract, according to a report from the Rangers Review.
This would be particularly bad news for Bajrami, as they are both left wingers by trade, and with Mikey Moore now back with Tottenham, there’s a starting berth currently up for grabs there in Danny Rohl‘s side.
Given that Curtis played more times for Rangers last season than Bajrami did, despite spending the second half of the season out on loan, the teenager looks sure to be ahead of the Albanian in the Ibrox pecking order.
Bajrami needs position change to revive Rangers career
Curtis inking a new deal in Govan may serve to be the final nail in Bajrami’s Ibrox coffin.
If, however, he decides to scrap the idea of being a Gers success story as a left winger, then the former Sassuolo man may yet write a new chapter in his Glaswegian tale.
Bajrami is capable of playing through the middle of the pitch as an attacking midfielder, and nobody in the 2025-26 squad really grabbed that number 10 position and made it their own last term.

Mohamed Diomande and Thelo Aasgaard both blew hot and cold, and Bajrami could take advantage of that with a good pre-season.
Or how about moving to the right, where the jury is still out on Djeidi Gassama, Andreas Skov Olsen doesn’t appear to be sticking around on a permanent basis and Oliver Antman endured a disappointing debut campaign respectively.
Either way, it does feel as though something needs to change regarding Bajrami’s position in the team, as otherwise, he looks sure to remain buried down the depth chart on the left flank.
