Rangers: Michael Beale proves his level after hitting new low with latest appointment news
Rangers were certainly glad to see the back of Michael Beale when he departed in October 2023.
The 45-year-old completed an Ibrox comeback in 2022 after cutting short a stellar spell in charge of Queens Park Rangers in the Championship.
He had previously acted as assistant manager in Govan under Steven Gerrard before following the former Liverpool star to Aston Villa.
Things certainly didn’t work out after becoming head coach of the Light Blues, and he was ultimately sacked after 11 months.
There was a sour atmosphere surrounding Beale and Rangers by the end, something which fans won’t forget as he looks set to take on a new managerial role.

Michael Beale to be named Zulte Waregem manager
Looking at the Englishman’s record in G51, you wouldn’t believe there was too much wrong, especially after racking up the highest points total in Scottish Premiership history, not to win the title.
It was ultimately a poor start to his first full season in charge, and three defeats in seven games brought his spell to an end.

That made way for a move to Sunderland in the Championship, and his relationship with the Black Cats became horrendous.
Things quickly became toxic before he was sacked, leaving the former Gers man with little place to turn.
He linked up with Gerrard as number two once again, this time at Saudi Arabian outfit El-Ettifaq, but he is now ready for a return to management.
The 45-year-old is set to be named as manager of Belgian Pro League side Zulte Waregem, just days after they avoided relegation after a four-way play-off.
Beale has maintained links at Rangers, but this latest role raises questions about what level he is actually at.
Rangers point proven as Beale awaits Zulte Waregem appointment
The Belgian side have largely been helped in their fight against relegation by the division’s expansion to include 18 teams.
That doesn’t exactly paint the best picture, especially for Beale, who previously managed in the English Championship and the Scottish Premiership.

He looks set to replace Steve Colpaert after his excellent shift as interim manager, to replace Sven Vandenbroeck, who had overseen eight defeats in 10 games.
That sums up the level the former Ibrox boss is going in at and proves how far his reputation has fallen since his Govan exit.
It may be proof of his level at this stage and shows that the Gers made the correct decision to remove him from his role.
