Rangers Fan Advisory Board meeting reveals three-point plan for summer signings
Rangers have released the minutes from their recent Fan Advisory Board (FAB) meeting, and it shows exactly what Ibrox chiefs want adding to the squad this summer.
A thorough review of Rangers’ 2025-26 season and how it ended up going so wrong at the end, will no doubt be taking place.
Danny Rohl‘s side bounced into the Scottish Premiership split having won four-straight league games on the bounce, only to see that form flipped on its head.
Gers’ subsequent four-game losing run killed any hopes of being crowned champions, as the campaign petered out in hugely frustrating fashion.
Plenty of work is going to be required in the summer transfer window if Rangers are stay in the title fight next term, and it seems as though it’s clear to the Ibrox hierarchy what this team needs.
🚨 RANGERS TRANSFER UPDATE 🚨
The latest breaking news on signings, departures, and Danny Röhl’s primary targets.
What has been said on transfers in Rangers FAB meeting?
A number of Rangers signings flopped in 2025-26, in what turned out to be a mixed season on the transfer front.
Tuur Rommens, Tochi Chukwuani, Youssef Chermiti, Emmanuel Fernandez and Mikey Moore respectively were all big hits, whilst Andreas Skov Olsen, Oliver Antman, Derek Cornelius and Joe Rothwell weren’t, respectively.
| Rangers’ 25-26 league stats | Result |
| Open play goals | 46 |
| Set-piece goals | 21 |
| Goals conceded per game | 1.1 |
| Goals scored per game | 2.0 |
| Average possession | 58% |
In the end, this Rangers group were exploited for their lack of leaders, experience and fight, crumbling when the pressure was well and truly on in the final games of the season.
Thankfully, the publication of minutes from Rangers’ recent Fan Advisory Board meeting – as shared via Rangers’ X account – seem to indicate that Gers decision-makers acknowledge that, and are clear in their vision for what needs adding to the team.
“The club confirmed that the summer window would involve with a sharper focus on leadership, mentality and chemistry alongside specific positional needs,” the minutes read.
“The FAB supported these points and also encouraged the club to establish a strong and high-quality Scottish core within the squad – it is imperative that we have a squad geared toward the demands of the SPFL.
“The club acknowledged this view and noted that while experience, they must be good enough and that nationality was not the defining criteria in building a team.
“The planned reintroduction of Findlay Curtis and the development of players such as Ashton Scally was also mentioned.
“It was emphasised that this forms part of a planned multi – window approach rather than a single rebuild.”
Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers prove Rangers self-awareness
In modern football, many football clubs are seeing a growing disconnect between ownership and a clear knowledge and understanding of what’s happening on the pitch.
The value of having owners that clearly understand what they’re witnessing, and being able to diagnose playing squad problems and weaknesses quickly and correctly is huge.
From this section on summer transfer plans, it strongly suggests that this is the case with Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers Enterprises at Rangers.

The 49ers have shown their abilities via the success Leeds United are having in the Premier League, and the fact they’ve been able to identify the same concerns and gaps in the squad that many Rangers fans have is very encouraging.
It’s all well and good saying these things though; Ibrox chiefs must now go out and bring players in with these qualities this summer.
