Steven Gerrard speaks out on Mohamed Salah uncertainty after rogue Rangers link
Steven Gerrard has admitted that he’s been taken aback by how Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool story is ending, which comes just weeks after the winger was linked with a shock move to Rangers.
The Liverpool legend will depart Anfield at the end of the season, leaving the club as a free agent, with multiple clubs in Saudi Arabia reportedly in the hunt for his signature.
Rangers’ advisor Stig Inge Bjornebye said that Gers held discussions about Salah’s future in April, which is where the link to the Bears comes from.
Danny Rohl will be helped by a “significant” backing from the 49ers this summer, but the chances of the Bears actually signing the Liverpool winger are very slim.
However, Rangers have talked about Salah’s future, with their former boss Gerrard now speaking about the uncertainty and controversy over his awaited exit.

Rangers advisor Bjornebye called Salah a legend and most Gers fans would obviously love for him to come to Ibrox.
Unless Salah think he has enough money already and wants to become a legend with another club, then it’s highly unlikely that the 49ers can sway the 33-year-old to join.

The Egyptian made a cryptic tweet recently, which Gerrard believes to have been a message to the Liverpool dressing room.
While speaking with TNT Sports on Saturday, Gerrard said: “I think he’s sending a message to the outside that the Liverpool dressing room isn’t right. I’m surprised at the timing, with one game to go, his last game for Liverpool. He very rarely speaks, but that is quite damming.”
It’s believed that Saudi Arabia is Salah’s likely next destination, though in football, you just never know.
Rangers can sign one Liverpool player
While signing Salah may be a complete pipedream, the Gers do have a genuine chance of bringing one player from Liverpool this summer.
The Gers have been linked with Lucas Stephenson, who is currently out on loan with Dundee United, as the right-wing back’s loan with the Scottish club comes to an end this summer.
Stephenson has been on Rangers’ radar for a while, and this summer could be the moment that Gers pounce.
James Tavernier’s exit also gives the 49ers a need to approach Liverpool over signing Stephenson, with the young defender already built for success in the Scottish Premiership.
