Danny Rohl is under pressure at Rangers as discontent within the fanbase may prompt Andrew Cavenagh to make a bold decision.
The post-split fixtures could not have gone any worse, and no one would have imagined just how bad things have been.
Gers lost 3-1 to Celtic on Sunday, which mathematically killed their Scottish Premiership title hopes for good, while also ruling them out of a top-two finish.
The Rangers boss has already been in talks with the 49ers over what happens this summer regarding transfers, but it’s not too late for Cavenagh and Co. to backtrack.
Rohl could now be sacked following the Old Firm defeat, as those close to the club understand the severity of the situation.

Scott McDermott says Danny Rohl under ‘major pressure’
Rohl’s sack could happen this week, but it remains to be seen whether the 49ers would pull the trigger before a full on assesment.
Indeed, the German head coach did well to get the Bears back in contention for the title, but the past three games alone have lost many supporters.

As seen in the Scottish Premiership table above, the Bears have crumbled when they needed to show up most, and Rohl’s big game record is partly to blame for this.
Local journalist Scott McDermott was speaking after the game, and suggested that Cavenagh must act immediately if his mind has changed over the past fortnight.
McDermott said, as quoted on the Daily Record‘s Hotline Live: “You cannot deny how disastrous this last fortnight has been. He’s under major, major pressure because a lot of these fans will want a change now.
“If there’s any doubt in the minds of Cavenagh or the Rangers board, they need to act now.”
The Bears have lost three league games on the bounce for the first time since Dick Advocaat’s side did so all the way back in 2000.
Rangers have nothing to play for but their own pride at this point, as the next outing at Ibrox could be toxic.
49ers must hire interim for last two games
The 49ers will show their mettle with what happens next regarding Rohl’s future, as coming out and backing him or equally sacking him will be huge calls.
Had Gers missed out on the title narrowly, there would probably be no doubt over this, but the fact that things have fizzled out so badly changes the complexion.
As McDermott said, if Cavenagh and Co. do have doubt over Rohl, then sack him immediately.
Bring in an interim head coach for the last two games, plan for next season, and do what you can to get the fans back on board before a new head coach arrives in Glasgow this summer.
