Tam McManus reacts to ’embarrassing’ Rangers footage, explains why they got ‘battered’
Tam McManus has questioned Rangers‘ lack of hunger and desire in their costly 3-2 home loss to Motherwell.
Danny Rohl‘s men battled back from two goals down, only to concede a 90th-minute winner through Emmanuel Longelo.
The defeat completely kills Rangers’ momentum and leaves them down in third, one point behind Celtic and now four off leaders Hearts – their next two opponents.
A number of Rangers players simply were not good enough at Ibrox on Sunday, with supporters making their annoyance known.
And pundit McManus has now reacted to some footage that has surfaced from the defeat over the weekend.

Nicolas Raskin and Thelo Aasgaard slow to get back
Raskin was by no means Rangers’ worst performer against Motherwell – indeed he was on the scoresheet – but his workrate at times left a lot to be desired.
A clip was posted on X by an account named ‘divjr1872′ showing Rangers’ players jogging back as Motherwell launched an attack.
“The effort to run back the way from Raskin And Thelo Aasgaard compared to the pace of [Callum] Slattery hitting the box is embarrassing,” the tweet read.
McManus quoted that message and posted one of his own that read: “Can’t coach that hunger or desire. Certainly one of the reasons Rangers got battered first half yesterday.”
While it is easy to disagree with plenty of what McManus says, he does have a point on this occasion.
After a couple of weeks off between games, fatigue cannot be an issue that the players can use as an excuse.
The scenario Rangers need to win title
From the favourites in the eyes of some heading into the league split to outsiders, all in the space of a weekend.
The good news for Rangers is they still have Hearts and Celtic to face. Six points from six, as unlikely as that may sound, has to be the target.

Celtic also host Hearts on 16 May. If that result also works in Rangers’ favour, Rohl’s men could go into the final round of fixtures out in front.
It’s all ifs, buts and maybes, of course, and it should not have been this way, but at least hope is not killed completely just yet.
