Andreas Skov Olsen wants Rangers move now as he’s left at home before transfer
Rangers appear to be closing in on a move for Andreas Skov Olsen.
Rangers announced the signing of Tochi Chukwuani over the weekend, as the 49ers look to add to Danny Rohl’s squad ahead of their title push in the second half of the campaign.
He’s expected to be joined by several other additions over the next few weeks, with Dan Neil among those linked with a move to Ibrox.
However, attacking reinforcements are also needed in Glasgow, and the latest update on their pursuit of Olsen bodes well for the immediate future.
Olsen transfer could be on the cards after Wolfsburg latest
Rangers have been linked with Olsen in the past, though his move to Wolfsburg for a reported £12million fee last January ended those rumours.
Since then, the 26-year-old has played 23 times for the Bundesliga outfit, with three goals and one assist to his name.
However, the Denmark international has not featured for his club since the start of December, when he was believed to have picked up an injury.
Olsen was again absent as Wolfsburg were thrashed 8-1 by Bayern at the weekend, this time not due to injury, with a report in the Daily Record stating that he is keen on a move to Rangers.
His contract in Germany runs until 2029, meaning Wolfsburg are under no immediate pressure to sell, but with his heart set on a move to Ibrox, a deal could be progressed in the next few days.
Rangers could be set to land perfect Vaclav Cerny replacement
Aside from the obvious Wolfsburg link, Olsen and Vaclav Cerny both possess very similar qualities, making it clear as to why the Light Blues want to bring him in.
Ever since the Czech winger departed Ibrox, Rangers have been crying out for a left-footed winger, and Olsen would be a perfect fit.
His time at Wolfsburg has not been great, but the 26-year-old showcased why he is so highly rated throughout his time with Club Brugge.
In his last two seasons in Belgium, Olsen made 77 appearances, with 34 goals and 13 assists throughout that period.
