Findlay Curtis loan exit mooted for Rangers after what has happened elsewhere

Findlay Curtis could leave Rangers this month, with a temporary exit potentially on the cards.

Curtis started the season in great form for Rangers, with a stunning strike in a Champions League qualifying clash with Panathinaikos.

He also notched the equaliser against St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership in the early stages of the campaign, as well as a League Cup strike against Alloa Athletic.

However, Curtis‘ chances have been restricted under Danny Rohl, and he needs to be playing regularly to develop.

Findlay Curtis could link up with ex-Rangers heroes

Rangers icons Neil McCann and Billy Dodds have been appointed as Kilmarnock’s new manager and assistant manager, respectively.

David Friel believes that Curtis could link up with McCann and Dodds in East Ayrshire after the lack of action in Govan.

Speaking on the Scottish Sun’s Go Ballistic transfer special on 6 January, he said: “He’s been unfortunate this season where he’s come on and flashed in certain games, especially when Rangers were struggling a couple of months ago.

“He was a real shining light, he came on and scored a couple of goals.

“I just wonder about the news of Neil McCann and Billy Dodds going in as the Killie management team, is Curtis a guy that could maybe go there?

“A team of that ilk who are playing in the Premiership, struggling a bit, could do with some goals.

“You spoke about Lyall Cameron benefiting from a loan, I think Findlay Curtis definitely could benefit from a loan.

“He’s probably not going to get the games that he needs at this stage of his career at Rangers this season.

“I think if he did go to Kilmarnock for talking’s sake, I think it would be a beneficial move for everybody.”

Why Kilmarnock loan makes perfect sense for Curtis and Rangers

Curtis may have played 17 times for the Gers this season, but he has only been on the pitch for a total of 411 minutes.

He could earn significantly more playing time if he made a switch to Rugby Park for the rest of the season, and come back to Govan as a better player.

He is good enough to make an impact for McCann and Dodds at their new club, and given their connections to the Light Blues, they can give him advice for when he returns.

The move makes far too much sense not to be considered, whether it actually materialises, though, is a different matter entirely.

One thing is for sure, Curtis needs to be playing constantly, and he is not doing that under Rohl, so a loan move would make perfect sense, especially if it was in the top-flight.

The idea of him linking up with two former Gers stars, who are held in good light in G51 seems like an excellent prospect.
