Josh Windass to Ibrox latest as Chris Jack shares what’s been said about Rangers ‘bid’
Rangers haven’t made a bid for Wrexham attacking-midfielder Josh Windass ahead of the winter transfer window, Chris Jack says.
The Rangers Review journalist has revealed that several people have confirmed that the Gers are yet to make an official approach for the former Sheffield Wednesday star.
Danny Rohl is claimed to be eager to reunite with Windass, but it looks like news of the Light Blues getting in touch with Y Dreigiau is premature.
Youssef Chermiti has been told he can leave Ibrox in the coming days, which arguably makes the addition of an attacking outlet a priority for the Glaswegian outfit.

Danny Rohl knows what Josh Windass will bring to Rangers
Rohl was appointed Sheffield Wednesday manager in 2023 and managed Windass for a few months.
In the summer, the German manager and the Englishman left the Owls after their financial instability, with the attacker moving to Wrexham on a free transfer.
Rohl replaced Russell Martin at Ibrox, and while the 36-year-old head coach has been able to turn the tide at the Glaswegian outfit, there’s still undoubtedly a lot of work to do in terms of recruitment to strengthen the squad.
Speaking on The Rangers Review on 24 December, Jack said: “Clearly, he’s worked with the manager, knows the manager. Rohl knows how Windass operates as a player and a person. A number of people confirmed to us yesterday that no bid had been made yet, no official approach had been made.”
Kevin Thelwell was rightly shown the door by Andrew Cavenagh after some abysmal signings as sporting director.
The former Everton chief signed 12 players during his short stint in Govan, but it’s safe to say the Light Blues’ squad has deteriorated despite a £20million net spend in the summer.
Danny Rohl creative issues laid bare at Ibrox
Kris Boyd believes Rangers are a Mikey Moore injury away from total collapse, and the former Gers forward may be right.
The Gers have lacked any sort of threat in the final third this season, with Bojan Miovski, Danilo and Chermiti failing to score consistently.
It’s evident that the Light Blues need a reliable goalscorer, and Windass’ ability to play in multiple positions may come in handy.
In the previous campaign, the Englishman scored 13 league goals under Rohl, but it remains to be seen whether the two will be reunited at Ibrox soon.
