Rangers vs Hibernian postponement latest as Glasgow weather warning issued

Rangers return to Scottish Premiership action against Hibernian on Monday evening.

Danny Rohl was raging on Thursday as Rangers crashed out of the Europa League with a 2-1 defeat at Ferencvaros in Budapest.

Hibs are next at Ibrox on 15 December, with an extra day’s rest secured for the Bears.

Rangers changes are expected, and it could be a rocky evening as Christmas approaches.

Yellow weather warning issued around Ibrox

With Celtic struggling under Wilfried Nancy and Hearts winning again, Rangers really need to keep the pressure on with three points against Hibs.

Glasgow is approaching Christmas, but the weather is far from festive.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain in the city on 14 December, with flooding said to be likely and travel services disrupted.

The warning does disappear on Monday, meaning the chances of postponement are very low, but travel will still likely be disrupted in Govan.

Rangers vs Hibernian head-to-head

Rangers beat Hibs 1-0 last time out at Easter Road.

Danilo’s early goal was enough for all three points, yet it wasn’t without controversy as Jack Butland saved a late penalty to secure the win.

That also followed the 2-0 victory in the Premier Sports Cup back in September, which was actually under Russell Martin and one of his last successes.

Hibs have been doing well under David Gray at Easter Road, and haven’t lost since 25 November, with wins over Falkirk, Dundee and St Mirren since.

Kieron Bowie, Martin Boyle and Josh Mulligan are the men to watch, with a physical evening likely in store for Rangers in the pouring rain.

Third spot is up for grabs for the victor at Ibrox, with Motherwell surprisingly in that spot now.

With Hearts to follow as Tynecastle on the Sunday before Christmas, the pressure is really on Rohl to conquer Edinburgh and really start proving Scottish Premiership title credentials.
