Billy Dodds shares what he has read about Rangers star who looks better than ever at Ibrox
Billy Dodds was hugely impressed with Bojan Miovski’s recent performances against Dundee United and Kilmarnock for Rangers.
In Rangers’ 2-2 draw with Dundee United on 3 December, he helped to link up play and was unlucky not to score as the Bears produced an incredibly wasteful display in front of goal.
Miovski’s brace against Kilmarnock on Saturday fired the Bears to a 3-0 win at Rugby Park, and he has now emerged as Danny Rohl’s favoured striker.
With four goals in all competitions this season, the North Macedonian has had a slow start to life in Govan, with confidence hitting an all-time low at the start of Rohl’s reign.
After what Miovski has done in the last week, former Gers assistant manager Dodds believes he could know the reason for his upturn in form.
Bojan Miovski’s revival at Rangers is due to him leaving social media
Miovski joined Rangers from Girona for a fee that could rise to £4.2million in the summer transfer window, and despite having goalscoring pedigree in Scotland with Aberdeen, he failed to hit the ground running under both Rohl and Russell Martin.
However, speaking on The Go Radio Football Show Podcast on 9 December, Dodds was certainly impressed with Miovski’s attitude in recent weeks.
He said: “I was reading in the papers that he came off social media recently. He’s got himself two goals, and he looks very sharp again.
“When he’s got runners going beyond him, it gives him more time and helps him a lot.”
Dodds urged Youssef Chermiti to stay off social media after he missed a gilt-edged chance in the draw to Dundee United.
Chermiti and Miovski have battled it out all season long to become Rangers‘ starting striker, with both forwards being subjected to abuse from fans online.
Ibrox can be a volatile place to play football, and Miovski is starting to show that he can cope with the pressure of playing in a Rangers shirt.

With Rangers travelling to Hungary to take on Ferencvaros on Thursday, Miovski would certainly give the Bears an advantage in possession over Chermiti or Danilo.
Bojan Miovski’s link-up play gives him the edge at Ibrox
Using stats via Sofascore, Chermiti has a pass accuracy of 57.3 per cent in the Europa League, and Rohl can’t afford to select him for such a crucial game.
Danilo, who has shown marginal improvement in front of goal, also has a low pass accuracy, registering a figure of 77.5 per cent in the Scottish Premiership.
Both players fall miles behind Miovski in this category, with the 26-year-old having an 83.3 per cent pass accuracy in the league, and Rohl needs a striker capable of holding the ball up against a physical Ferencvaros side.
Having also created more chances than Chermiti and Danilo in the top flight, Miovski seems like a shoo-in for Thursday’s crucial game.
