Kris Boyd still amazed at what Rangers ace did vs Kilmarnock 24 hours on – ‘It’s unbelievable’

Kris Boyd remains in awe at what he saw Bojan Miovski pull off in Rangers’ win at Kilmarnock on Saturday.

Miovski scored twice and Mikey Moore was also on the scoresheet as Rangers saw off Kilmarnock 3-0 at Rugby Park.

There were some contentious moments on the night, with Mohammed Diomande avoiding punishment for a shirt pull and Jack Butland dodging a red card for a strong challenge outside his box.

The gulf in quality between the two sides ultimately showed, with Miovski giving his Ibrox career lift-off with his double.

Moore scored a fine goal to wrap up the points for Rangers from the bench, but Miovski had earlier done the hard work.

On the back of Rangers’ 2-2 draw with Dundee United and 0-0 stalemate at home to Falkirk, this was exactly the response Danny Rohl needed.

Miovski’s first goal was a rather unorthodox toe-poke that flew into the back of the net from around 15 yards out.

Boyd bigged up the goal during Sky Sports’ live coverage of the match on Saturday, and he was still in awe at it during coverage of Celtic’s 2-1 loss to Hearts on Sunday.

“Honestly, I couldn’t get enough of this,” he said as footage of the goal was showed again. “It’s unbelievable. What a strike. People will say ‘it’s a toe-poke’, but it’s meant.”

Rangers are now unbeaten in 10 Scottish Premiership matches, but they are nine points behind leaders Hearts after their win at Celtic.

Danny Rohl shares what he said to Miovski to kickstart Rangers career

Miovski was a smart signing by the Gers in the summer, but the North Macedonia international has taken time to get going – surprising given he is used to the division.

The two goals against Dunfermline was his first brace since December 2023 when playing for Aberdeen.

Speaking after the match on Saturday, Rohl said he had recently held private talks with the striker and has gradually seen him improve.

He now has three goals in 12 Scottish Premiership outings this term, which is still not great but is certainly an improvement on one in 11, as it was prior to the weekend.

Rohl now needs to persist with Miovski and forget about rotating his strikers. Moore looks a talent, but for now a bit-part role may be the best bet.

If Miovski can hit his previous heights, it will give Rohl the platform he needs to really push on as Rangers boss.
