Danny Rohl on course for Rangers embarrassment as humiliating record closes in ahead of Kilmarnock
Rangers are set to take on Kilmarnock on Saturday with Danny Rohl aiming to avoid a fourth successive draw.
While the Gers have not lost many games in the league this season, at just one, many of their points have been lost in stalemates.
On Wednesday, Rangers drew 2-2 with Dundee United, which was their ninth draw in the Scottish Premiership this campaign.
This has left Rohl’s side fourth in the table, with many Rangers stars being criticised for the points dropped.
However, if another draw is picked up, it would be the most the Gers have had in succession since 2005 as a top-flight club.

Rangers aiming to avoid a fourth successive draw vs Kilmarnock
According to BBC Sport on 5 December, Rangers last drew four times in a row in all competitions as a top-flight club in 2005.
This season was another nightmare for the Ibrox faithful, with the Gers finishing third, one point behind Hearts in second, and 18 points behind winners Celtic.
While Rohl hasn’t been at the club long and Russell Martin did plenty of damage at Ibrox before he arrived, if a draw is the outcome on Saturday, it will be humiliating for the German.
Despite the positives in his early tenure, Rangers simply have to overcome these types of opponents, and it would be an embarrassment if the visitors do not manage this.
What has Danny Rohl said ahead of Kilmarnock?
The last two draws have no doubt seen Rangers fall behind the top two after they looked to be catching the league’s front runners.
However, with Celtic and Hearts set to play each other on Sunday, Rohl is hopeful that the Gers will oversee a positive result to help close the gap on one of the top two.
He said in his pre-match press conference: “Yes, of course the last two draws opens again a little bit the gap but if we win [against Kilmarnock], the two opponents or teams ahead of us has to play against each other.
“Not both can win. And then we have the game in our hand, it is a long way [the gap] but it’s not impossible.”
